Biography

In addition to his representation of clients in various types of litigation and court proceedings, Judge Langlois also provides a full spectrum of alternative dispute resolution services, including mediation and arbitration to litigants who prefer to pursue discreet expeditious resolution of their disputes particularly those involving family members and closely-held businesses.

Prior to joining Verrill Dana, Judge Langlois served for 15 years as a Justice of the Massachusetts Trial Court, where he was appointed as First Justice of both the Middlesex and Norfolk Probate and Family Courts. He was also specially designated as a Suffolk Superior Court Judge to preside, to conclusion, over several jury trials including a medical malpractice and a condominium dispute. Most recently, he served as the Judicial Representative to the Joint Bar Task Force on Alimony and he continues as a member of numerous committees including the Bench-Bar Committee on Rules and Standing Orders. Judge Langlois chaired the Committee on Judicial Enhancement as well as the Interdisciplinary Settlement Committee. He has lectured extensively and authored materials for numerous educational programs and seminars for both the judiciary and the bar.

For 24 years prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Langlois was a principal and founder of Fleming & Langlois (formerly Brownell, Delahunt, Fleming & Langlois) in Quincy, Massachusetts, where he maintained a practice in civil, probate and family litigation before State and Federal Courts in Massachusetts.
