The mission of Verrill Dana's Associate Mentoring and Training Committee (AMTC) is to support the Firm’s processes for integrating, developing, and retaining highly competent and productive lawyers. The AMTC oversees the Mentor and Peer Contact Program, assists in the formal training of Associates, and endeavors to enhance the Associate experience by serving as a connection between associates and management.

Verrill Dana provides each Associate with an opportunity to develop a successful career in the practice of law. Our Associate Mentor Program matches each Associate with an experienced Partner, who provides guidance and support. During an Associate's rotational assignments with the firm, the Associate's mentor will be one of the members of the firm's Hiring Committee. Thereafter, the Associate's mentor will be a Partner in his or her assigned practice group who can continue to serve as a dedicated resource for all aspects of personal and professional development, helping to ensure that our associates are positioned for success at Verrill Dana.

All new Associates are also paired with a more senior Associate, who serves as a peer contact, and can provide a sounding board and personal insights regarding the firm. Experience has shown that such peer contact is invaluable in addressing concerns that Associates often have regarding work/life balance and professional fulfillment at the firm.
