Biography

Martha is an accomplished trial attorney committed to success on behalf of her clients. An ardent supporter of the civil jury system, Martha has spent the bulk of her professional career representing clients before juries. At last count, Martha had tried more than 150 civil jury trial cases to verdict. Over the years, Martha has handled a wide variety of complex products liability cases arising from aviation, agricultural and workplace accidents, as well as cases involving medical devices.

In addition to handling jury trials, Martha has decades of experience handling non-jury and administrative matters. Although the focus of her trial work has involved catastrophic personal injury claims, Martha has developed a dedicated interest in environmental law, which started when she worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before becoming a lawyer.

Martha and her husband of 32 years, John Tebbetts, live in Gorham, Maine. John is a marine biologist and antique car enthusiast. They are the proud parents of two sons, Jack and Bill. Jack is an Eagle Scout and a law student at Penn State. Bill, also an Eagle Scout, is studying auto restoration at McPherson College. In addition to being an avid Gorham Rams football booster, Martha is treasurer and committee member of BSA Troop 817. Besides spending time with her family, Martha enjoys swimming, kayaking, making stained glass and arguing about politics.
