Our Sustainability Initiative

  • Green is Gold- Sustainability
We recognize that all human activity, including the operation of a law firm, has an impact on the environment and the natural world. Our Sustainability Team, which includes associates, partners and staff, is responsible for monitoring our activities and their environmental impact and works diligently to promote practices that reduce waste and increase efficiencies. The Sustainability Team has adopted the slogan "Green is Gold" to emphasize the very real economic impact of reducing waste and energy consumption.

Mission Statement: Within the firm, we make daily choices in performing our work that can either reduce or increase the harmful impact of our activities on the environment. As a firm, we seek to reduce the impact.

The Sustainability Team has proposed a number of changes that the firm has implemented in following areas:
  1. Recycling/Reusing
  2. Paper Reduction
  3. Sustainable Products/Providers Preference
  4. Disposable Product Elimination
  5. Energy Consumption Reduction

To spread the message across the firm, the Team has coordinated fun and informational events to increase awareness and participation.

  • Mugapalooza: Attorneys and staff brought in mugs from home to compete for prizes in a number of categories. Using mugs has measurably reduced our use of paper coffee cups.
  • What's Your Bag? Everyone at the firm was provided with a reusable shopping bag to use for groceries, or to put under their desks for recyclable items.
  • Pledge Day: Our Pledge identifies simple practices that support our "Green is Gold" Initiative. Signers of our Pledge were given a pint glass (filled with green gelato from a local business) to use in place of plastic cups.
