He represents national and multinational corporations, higher education and healthcare institutions, startups, and individuals in a broad variety of immigration matters. His clients are drawn from a broad variety of industries, including Energy, Telecommunications, Financial Services, Banking, Consulting Firms, Architecture Firms, Insurance, Information Technology, High Tech Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Medical Devices, Healthcare, Hospitality, Footwear and Apparel, Government Agencies, Educational Institutions, Religious Institutions, Consumer Goods, Defense Contractors, and Building Materials, among many others.  He has substantial experience with management of immigration issues that arise through corporate changes, including mergers and acquisitions, downsizing, reductions in force and salary level changes. He has assisted clients in the development of corporate immigration policies and procedures. He counsels clients on employer obligations related to temporary transfers, employment eligibility verification and avoiding immigration-related unfair employment practices. He has also developed and performed nationwide I-9 compliance training for human resources personnel, and has assisted clients in preparing for I-9 and H-1B audits.

Having managed immigration within a multinational corporation, Dan has an insider’s perspective on the urgency and importance of his clients’ immigration needs.  Dan actively partners with clients to set up immigration best practices and strategies, and serves as a trusted counselor to clients on day-to-day immigration issues as they arise.  He conducts compliance policy reviews and audits, manages immigration processes for high-volume clients, and is experienced with international executive travel and foreign resident worker visa processing. He has helped numerous clients win approval on their cases on appeal to the Administrative Appeals Office, in cases handled by prior counsel. He has also assisted clients with securing the return of funds seized by Customs and Border Protection.

Dan is admitted to practice in Massachusetts. He received his B.A. from Bates College and holds a J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University, earning the Jurisprudence Award in Administrative Law. Dan is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. His Pro Bono activities have included representation of disabled clients before the Massachusetts Bureau of Special Education Appeals (BSEA), and a variety of immigration cases. He has advised junior associates on case strategy for appeals to the BSEA.
