Richard Berne practices white collar and general criminal defense work and litigation in the firm's Boston office. Rick specializes in defending complex criminal matters including: accounting fraud, environmental, health care, and RICO, as well as Grand Jury practice.
Prior to joining Verrill Dana, Rick was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the Northern District of California, where he prosecuted cases involving narcotics, bank fraud, and white collar crime. Following the U.S. Attorney's Office, Rick has had a national criminal defense practice based in New York City and Portland, Maine.
